How confident do you feel about today's game ?
I cannot lie I have a heavy feeling in my tummy and it's not from last nights big plate of Spaghetti bolognese either.
It is not that I do not think West ham can win I just think they lack belief in themselves and play accordingly, which is not a good thing, I hope they can turn a new leaf today and start to get a real sense of confidence going, if not well then it looks bad to be honest cos if they do not win today I think it will be a nail in the coffin for this season.
So my confidence is pretty low.

Re: How confident do you feel about today's game ?
I think we will support the side - I see a rousing atmosphere to start.

But as with all our home games - and thats at the shit hole and Upton Park - a couple of stray passes, a goal down, the sighs will be heard over any encouragement. Not saying I'm any different, but thats just a cold hard fact about our home support.

I pray to allah they fly out of the traps and get a couple in front. Southampton's confidence is going to be relatively brittle and if we can get a couple of early goals, they won't be much cop.

I fear though, a few stray passes, a few backwards passes, a couple of hopeless long balls, a lack of movement and we'll get restless.

Come on West Ham - please break the mould - make our support something that is reciprocal - we'll cheer you, you give us something to shout about, then we'll continue shouting our support.

Re: How confident do you feel about today's game ?
I would feel a lot more confident if the board announced they were staying away from today's game. The lift in the atmosphere would be enough to give the team the boost they need. But of course the board can't see this, or are refusing to do what's best for the club.

Re: How confident do you feel about today's game ?
I am going to be honest, and yes I know I don't haveto come on here amdtell anyone or preach to anyone about it but I honestly couldn't careless any more. I know that makes me a hypocrite (sort of) as I am posting here but so fucking what ....

Although I could never support another team I do go to watch Colchester a lot now (local to me) and although the atmosphere there is not great it IS A FOOTBALL stadium and still has a level of working mans game with no aggro from stewards, infighting and whatever else at that shit hole we now call home.

To me, the club died as soon as the last game at UP was played. We (well the cunts that run the club) gave in to greed and the club was put in to a coma on life support and is then died (as REAL West Ham) My opinion, not forcing it on anyone.

I maintained I would NEVER set foot in that place and I have not - it is NOTHING to do with success or failure, I simply DO NOT want to go there and would rather remember the happier (albeit too few of them) times at UP, the roar of the crowd, terracing, the smell of the burgers and everything else. It was a bit of a shit hole around there but it was OUR shit hole.

So, I know I have gone off tangent here but to answer the question about how confident I am. Simple answer, I am not confident at all but I certainly aint gonna worry over this shit heap of a team, manager, owners and shit hole stadium anymore.

If we go down, I couldn't care less, if we stay up I couldn't care less, I couldn't care less about ANY of our so called players and that INCLUDES Mr West Ammmm himself Noble - I have no loyalty to any of them at all.

To sum up, I guess I am past caring and I am not the only one but I choose to admit it.

Anyway, 'enjoy' the match - I may bung a stream on and post here during the game to see the meltdowns ifwe lose

2 out of ten, subject to massive revision after the first 5 minutes.

If we look up for it, I reckon we'll win.

Re: How confident do you feel about today's game ?
The beast has been awakened. Today it will rise up from its lair and devour anything and everything in its way. The saints will be lambs to the slaughter and will leave the London stadium smashed battered and broken. The mighty West Ham will be back once again and the sound of bubbles will send a chill down the spine.

0-0 it is then

Re: How confident do you feel about today's game ?
On a scale of 1 to 10 my confidence of getting anything out of this game including a draw is 1

Pitch invasions, protests, or not, the atmosphere is going to be as toxic as usual, entirely thanks to our board

Our players are bound to be effected by this & Southampton will capitalise on it

0-2 for me too!

How confident do you feel about today's game?

Hardly any confidence at all and even less confidence since I've heard Hart is starting.

It saddens me to say, but I reckon it'll be 0-2.

:-(

Re: How confident do you feel about today's game ?
Think my point was - if we can fly out the traps, and nick a couple of goals - they're not exactly a side that are going to fight back from the brink. They're as bad as us.

I think every West Ham fan knows our confidence is shot to bits.

Re: How confident do you feel about today's game ?
People talking about Southampton being low on confidence and nervous, what do they think our players will be like??

Their team talk will be one of the easiest Hughes will ever have to make.

I’m on the optimistic side of the graph for today’s game the only slight qualm being that Lawro’s has tipped us to win.

Re: How confident do you feel about today's game ?
I think we will lose 0-2.

The only way we might get something is if we attack rather than respect the point crap and even then we will lose unless we get lucky with deflections and our goal post wins man of the match as v Hull.

Re: How confident do you feel about today's game ?
I’m off out shortly and I’ve got to say that it seems odd to me to not care about this game but continually post and tell the rest of us you’re beyond caring.

As for the unbounded pessimism of the likes of Sir Alf it strikes me as being a mental stance to ward off possible disappointment following a defeat.

This afternoon, almost for the first time at a game, I will be concerned about how we as a crowd of supporters react. Will we get behind the team and will we keep off the pitch ( the ramifications to the club will be devastating if the Burnley scenario is repeated ).
